In class today we did an activity where there were 6 plastic cups, 1 rubber band with 5 strings attached to the rubber band.
Without talking we had to stack the cups in a pyramid. We had to use other communications other than talking. We looked at each other's facial expressions and we pointed to the one we wanted to move and we moved the cup together. We all opened the rubber band and then rung it around the cup, then we all picked up the cup together then stacked the cup on top of the other ones that were already in place. We were very successful! It was quite fun actually. The 5 C's that helped us get the task done was Communication, Control, Concept, Concentration, and Collaboration.
We also took a look at UDL for Life Cycle for a butterfly day 1. I was pretty cool, it says the objectives, goals, methods and assessments. It shows a step by step guide on how they want it to look. The lesson goals are all listed and you can use different ways to teach this subject. Sometimes giving choices is the best thing- thats what UDL does- it gives you choices; students feel empowered. The website is
